Purchase Terms
These terms apply when you acquire an original work from grasonratowsky.com. Please read them before you pay. If anything is unclear, write to acquisitions@grasonratowsky.com and we will answer before you commit.
Who you are buying from
Works are sold by Ratowsky LLC, 1250 Broadway, Floor 36, New York, NY 10001, United States. Email: acquisitions@grasonratowsky.com.
The artwork
Each listing is a unique, original painting by Grason Ratowsky. Dimensions are given in centimeters, with approximate inches, and describe the painting itself, not a frame or crate. Photographs are a faithful guide, but screens and lighting change how color and texture appear. We are glad to send detail photographs or a video, or to arrange a viewing, before you decide.
Unless the listing says otherwise, framing is not included. Installation photographs may show the work in an example setting or frame. The View on Wall preview is an illustration for orientation and is not drawn to exact scale.
Price, currency and payment
Prices are set and charged in US dollars. The euro amount shown beside each price is an approximate reference, converted daily at the European Central Bank reference rate. Your bank may apply its own exchange rate or fees.
You can pay by credit or debit card from any country or by US bank account (ACH), both taken securely by Stripe, or by international wire transfer. Card details never pass through or remain on this website. Your acquisition is confirmed once payment is received in full. For an international wire transfer, the order confirmation shows our bank details and your order number to use as the payment reference; please send the full amount in US dollars, and note that any fees charged by your bank are yours. A work paid by US bank account or wire transfer is reserved for you for up to 7 days while the payment arrives. If it has not arrived by then, the order may be canceled and the work offered again.
What the price includes
The price is for the artwork only. It does not include framing, specialist packing, transit insurance, shipping, import duties or local taxes in your country. After your acquisition, the studio will contact you personally to arrange delivery and discuss optional framing. We will send a written quote, and nothing further is charged unless you approve it. If the total cost matters to your decision, ask for an estimate before you buy; asking does not commit you or reserve the work.
We aim to send your delivery quote within five business days of your acquisition.
If you decline the delivery quote
Framing is always optional. If you prefer not to accept the delivery quote, you may collect the work by appointment from the location where it is held (the studio will confirm where) within 30 days at no extra cost, or arrange your own insured fine-art carrier with our help.
All sales are final
Because every work is unique and is reserved for you once you pay, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or cancellations.
If something goes wrong in transit, we put it right:
- Damage in transit. If the work arrives damaged, keep all packaging, photograph the packaging and the work without risking further damage, and contact us within seven days of delivery. We will make the insurance claim and agree with you on repair by a qualified conservator or a full refund on return of the work.
- Non-delivery. If an agreed delivery does not arrive, we will trace it with the carrier and, if the work is lost, refund you in full, including any delivery charges you paid us.
These terms do not limit any rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
Ownership and copyright
Ownership of the physical work passes to you once payment is confirmed in full. Copyright remains with the artist. You may photograph the work in your home or collection and share those images for personal, non-commercial purposes. The artist may continue to reproduce images of the work for portfolio, press, exhibition and archival purposes.
Documentation
Each work comes with an invoice from Ratowsky LLC identifying the work, its title, year, medium and dimensions. Please ask the studio about a signed certificate of authenticity and provenance details for a specific work before you buy.
If something goes wrong
Please write to acquisitions@grasonratowsky.com first. Most questions are resolved quickly and personally, and contacting us is faster than opening a dispute with your card provider.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without removing any protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
